For the premiere of Jack Ryan at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Prime Video wanted fans to feel like the hero, not the audience. We turned a 60,000-square-foot parking lot into a Middle Eastern city block: a VR obstacle course, an escape room, and a bazaar full of spy missions, staged in full detail.

The hyperreality centerpiece was created from scratch: the spatial design, the storytelling, and the VR game itself. Oculus headsets were mapped onto real obstacles through motion tracking, so the 28-foot plank walk, the helicopter rappel, and the zipline descent were physically there the moment you reached for them.

Billed as the world's first hyperreality spy experience, it drew more than 6,000 visitors across four days and became the most talked-about activation of the show.
